Fresh

This snap of the tiny fruits (must be about a cm in diameter each) on a branch was taken after a fleeting monsoon shower. The water drop in the centre looks quite captivating. In fact on enlarging the snap and turning it around by 180 degrees, I could view my reflection in the drop, seen while taking the snap!

I have reduced noise in this image with a tool called Neat Image that Suyog suggested to me. I think the tool works wonders! It makes the image look clean, freshly washed out, and also gives it a somewhat ethereal look. I used it to fix up a previously posted image , and it sure does work! Quite unfortunately, since I only have a demo version of the software, it removes the exif data from the image, something that I personally find useful when checking out a great snap. Good things are never for free?

Dainty legs on display

Also known as "The acrobatic centipede". PJ Time now -

Q: Why was Mr. Centipede always late for the party?
A: It took him time to lace up his boots.

Q: What goes 99-Clonk, 99-Clonk (Hint: Long John Silver)?
A: A centipede on crutches.

Incidentally, PJs were also called kadis by some people back in college. Wonder if that is a familiar term?

Someday, it might well be as simple as this - just plug into the halo and use up!

...and pink is the colour of heaven

The sky as the sun sets over Hebbal, Bangalore.

O' Piya piya...

Honestly, when is the last time you caught sight of a guy trying to woo a ball?

For the reader's enlightenment, the recalcitrant ball did not quite fall for his charms. Later, our friend tried to cover up his failed attempts at courtship by pretending that the snap actually captures his attempt to catch the ball that some one else had tossed his way! Ya, ya...we sure do believe you. The look on the face of our friend at the extreme right is quite priceless. Suspending the perpetual nibble at his cookie, he seems more interested in how this romantic interlude finally spans out.

On the trail of the red velvety mite

A bug in hand...

...and one on its way home

When I was young, I remember seeing plenty of these precious little creatures in my hometown in Rajasthan. They could be spotted in fairly shrubby, wilderness growth like areas, and were found to emerge especially during the rainy season. I even got a few home once and put them in a big brass vessel filled with moist mud. Sadly they did not survive for many days. I don't know what they are called, but 'red velvety mites' were what my dad used to call them. That name has stuck.
